This theatre was originally opened in 1951 by the US Air Force as an Allied cinema opposite Tempelhof Airport. However, it remained closed to Berliners for a long time after the Americans left and the building complex was returned to the city of Berlin. The cinema was closed and it lost its significance.
In 1998, the former cinema hall was first converted into a club, which in the following years would make history as the ColumbiaFritz Club. From 2002, the building was known as Columbia Club or C-Club.
In 2015, after extensive restoration and technical upgrades, the 1950s diamond in the rough shone once more as the Columbia Theater faithfully restored to its 1950s ambience.
