Praised by critics as “a musician of integrity and depth” (New York Concert Review) after her Carnegie Hall performance in 2017, pianist Yan Li has been recognized as a rising star on many competitive stages. The winner of the Dora Zaslovsky Koch Piano Concerto Competition at Manhattan School of Music, and as a result of her prize-winning performance in the competition, Ms. Li performed Beethoven's "Emperor Concerto" with the MSM Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Maestro George Manahan in early 2020."
 
Ms. Li has also been a top prizewinner in numerous competitions, including the International Virtuoso Competition, the New York International Music Concours, Los Angeles International Music Competition, National Artists Competition, East Coast International Competition, and Rondo Forma Young Artists Competition. Ms. Li was also a prize winner in the Metropolitan International Piano Competition, New York International Artists Competition, Bradshaw & Buono International Competition, New York Artists International Competition, Five Towns Young Musicians Competition, and Young Classical Virtuosos Competition. Ms. Li has also given the recitals around the United States, including the performances at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall and Bruno Walter Auditorium at Lincoln Center. 
 
Ms. Li has appeared in some music festivals and masterclasses, including the International Keyboard Institute and Festival and the Manhattan in the Mountains Music Summer Music Festival. In 2017, Ms. Li was chosen, through a competitive audition process, to participate in a master class taught by world-renowned pianist Yuja Wang at Manhattan School of Music. She also gained professional guidance from many other piano virtuosos, including Alexander Kobrin, Emanuel Krasovsky, Gerold Robbins, Tatiana Goncharova, Ilja Scheps, Inesa Sinkevych, Jeffrey Swann, Jonathan Klibonoff, Marian Hahn, and Ming-Qiang Lee.
 
Born in Shenzhen, China, pianist Yan Li began her piano studies at the age of 6.  She received both Bachelor of Music and Master o f Music Degrees from Manhattan School of Music, and is currently a candidate for the Doctor of Musical Arts Degree at Manhattan School of Music under the tutelage of Dr. Joanne Polk.  As well, Ms. Li is the recipient of the Roy M. Rubinstein Award at Manhattan School of Music.
