David Avendano immigrated from Mexico City in 1999. On the same year he met Frederick Hitchcock, who was his mentor for 15 years on the arts of piano restoration till the day he passed away while they were both working at NYCB at Lincoln Center.

Today, David runs A Piano Shop with Felipe A.( his father), a business which Fred started over 40 years ago.

He is the head piano technician at The School of American Ballet, where he is in charge of all the piano tunings, repairs, maintenance and restoration of the instruments.Also, he is in charge of over 25 pianos in NYC schools including CUNY and Avenues World School as well as many private clients through out the tri-state area. 

David has a wide vision for arts and his dream goal is to continue to carry Fred’s legacy and keep on learning and improving by the day.
