Biografie
“Great articulations and palette of colors and images with wonderful sense of Prokofiev’s style!”, commented by the judge Faina Lushtak when Pianist Yi Zeng won the Platinum Award in the Young Virtuosos of Tomorrow competition 2017. Recently, Yi Zeng won the prize of Honorable Mention in Pearl & Julius Young Competition and Second Prize in New York Artists International Competition 2017. She was a finalist in Rosalyn Tureck International Bach Competition. Born in China, she has won top prizes in major Chinese competitions, including Golden Prize in Third Season Goodway International Youth Piano Competition and Fifth Prize in “Pearl River Kayserburg” National Youth Piano Competition.
Meanwhile, Miss Zeng is a collaborative artist. She collaborates with not only various instruments but also voices. She has special interest in exploring modern repertoire. Her recent performances include collaborations with new composers such as Zitian An. She has performed in regularly in Manhattan School of Music. Miss Zeng attended Manhattan in the Mountains summer music festival in 2015 and 2016, and also Amalfi Coast Music Festival in Italy in 2018, where she had lessons with Boris Slutsky, Boris Berman, James Giles, Kevin-Fitz Gerald. She has worked with coaches such as Gerald Robbins, Jonathan Klibonoff, and Marion Feldman. Currently, Yi Zeng is studying with Joanne Polk in Manhattan School of Music, pursuing Doctoral Degree of Musical Arts in classical piano.
